“To the young people… I have spent my entire adult life fighting for what I believe in. I’ve had successes and I’ve had setbacks, sometimes really painful ones. Many of you are at the beginning of your professional, public, and political careers. You will have success and setbacks too. This loss hurts, but please never stop believing the fighting for what’s right is worth it.” –Hillary Clinton
One of the hardest things about being human is losing. But do we ever really lose? Sometimes the most trialing moments that we experience are really the moment we realize what we need to do, what we can do, and what we will do. I encourage everyone not to be discouraged if this election did not go the way you had desired. Let us stand united next to our brothers and sister who voted for our new leader, and hold on to our core values and focus on where we want to go. We really can make this place great. In fact, better than it ever has been.
I closing, don’t lose hope. One thing I have learned (in my 27 years of life) about my fellow American’s is that we will fight for what we believe in and most importantly we do not back down easily. So today, I will drop my conflicting (frivolous) opinions on the presidential campaign and focus on the real matters at hand. I will not expect elected officials to do all the work for me, I will stand up for the country that I love and never let it settle for less than it deserves.
“Working together, we will fulfill our desired dreams, we have tremendous potential and we will achieve everything.” –Future President, Donald Trump
