Party planning.

If there is one thing that I have learned about myself over the past few years, it’s that I LOVE bringing friends together. I love hosting and planning a party that will not only be a memorable Instagram shot, but a fabulous memory that my friends and I can always cherish. Whether it be New Years, Friendsgiving, or PRIDE you can always make a memorable time for your guests. Below are my three tips to planning the best get together.

1.Social media is everything! So with that said, you need to have the coolest backdrop for any get together you throw. Your friends will LOVE the instafame they will get when they post that cute pic. These backdrops do not need to be extravagant, nor do they need to be pre-made by some party store. Many of times you can find something perfect for $1-$2 in the gift wrap section. That’s right, gift wrap. The ultimate back drop that can really fit for any occasion. I suggest finding the pattern/color you want and buy two rolls. Then when you hand just roll both out and hang them vertically.

2. BYOB. Obvi, you need to tell everyone to bring their own, especially if you’re on a budget. But it’s always nice to surprise your guest with a refreshing treat. Sangria or jello-shots are always a win for everyone. My favorite recipe that I made was rainbow jello shots for PRIDE, which were layered to perfection to create a rainbow look.

Ingredients:

Bring ¾ Cup of water to a boil

Remove from heat and add a packet of jello powder

Add 2-3 ice cubes to bring down the temp.

Pour in ¾ cup of alcohol of choice

Pour a layer into ramekins (leaving room for new layers)

Place in fridge for 15-30 minutes

Repeat- this time with a new color.

3. Finger foods. Always a bonus to any social gathering. If there is drinking involved this should be something you supply for your friends. You can be as creative as you wish with this. I am pretty simple with finger foods and chips and salsa. Everyone likes finger foods. Or maybe it’s just me #fatty.

No matter what the occasion, you should never be afraid to throw your very own holiday party. Even on a budget you can make a memorable occasion for you and your friends. So plan your next gig and don’t forget to invite me!

Cheers,
