Let’s grab a drink…

Friday cannot get here soon enough.’ a phrase we all are guilty of saying under our breath many times during a crazy week at the office. We all have those stressful moments where there just isn’t enough hours in the day, or vice versa, the hours just drag on and on and the day just won’t end. Then in the mix of all the chaos and frustration, a coworker asks you the most enticing question…

“happy hour?”

I know, I know, you’re excited now! So today, I decided to share a few of my favorite places to ‘grab a cold one’ in Dallas.Screen Shot 2016-04-26 at 10.43.17 PM

Mattito’s Cafe

Right off the corner of Cedar Springs and Oaklawn you can find my favorite happy hour go-to. On a nice day, the patio is the perfect escape from a trialing time at the office. Mattito’s not only offers great drink specials,  but  also a free mini buffet (queso, quesadillas, etc.). When I step into Mattito’s I crave nothing more than a Rumbarita.Screen Shot 2016-04-26 at 10.47.31 PM

Yes, for just $5 this tall glass of ice cold blue heaven will bring you to a happy place. Don’t let the excitement of this fabulous beverage make you drink these bad boys too fast though, otherwise you will end up with the worlds worst brain freeze. Two of these and you will be in a great state of mind.

Social House- Uptown

This is one of those places you just need to go and gain a perspective for yourself. The environment is just young, trendy, and fun! You really can’t go wrong by showing up here after a long day. Some of my favorite beverages here is the Social Mule (their version of the Moscow Mule), Margarita (nothing fancy just plain and simple…LOVE it), and as always mimosa’s. If you are ever looking for a quick drink, try a green tea shooter…it’s fantastic!

The Old Monk

First off, this place was love at first sight. Located on Henderson Ave. this restaurant/bar gives you those chill/trendy Austin vibes, they have exceptional food too (which will be in a blog to come). I would highly encourage checking out their hot drink menu, the Mulled Wine is a perfect combination of a dark red and a cinnamon twist. It’s safe to say that I have never had a drink I wasn’t pleased with here…so grab a cheese board and give them all a try!

Village Burger Bar

Words cannot explain my love for this establishment. They stole my heart the minute I discovered the carafe of SANGRIA!!

On Wednesday’s and Saturday’s you can get a carafe half priced and it is so worth it. You can bring 4-5 friends, or just have 4-5 glasses all to yourself…your choice. This sangria is a gift that keeps on giving.

Village Burger Bar also has half priced wine bottles on Wednesday, and $3 margarita’s on Friday. Besides the excellent drinks, their food is AMAZING! One of my favorite places in Dallas.

So the next time you find yourself in a rut of where to go explore a decent drink menu…remember these gems. It will be love at first sip.
